Installation procedure 
  • The installation procedure is straightforward. Please run the downloaded executable file and follow the instructions.

What's New?

  • Windows 8.1 support - Acronis True Image 2014 Update 1 is officially certified for Windows 8.1.
  • Unified file backup dialog - Now you can back up your files to a local storage and to Acronis Cloud within one window.
  • A new wizard for moving product licenses - When you have a 1-PC True Image license and you install the product on the second PC, you will get the "Too many activations" issue. There are different ways to resolve it. The new wizard leads you to the correct decision by asking you a few simple questions.

Main enhancements and optimizations 
  • Online backup: parallel upload of metadata.
  • Online backup: parallel download of data.
  • It is now easier to upgrade to Acronis True Image 2014 Premium. Just click Acronis Store button in the main toolbar and follow instructions.
  • You can now upgrade to the next version of True Image via a built-in store.

List of fixed issues 
  • [ATIHXOXIV-1982] Error 10093 appears during Acronis system report generation.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-3165] During backup progress in bootable media environment, when you select the "Restart the computer when backup is completed" or "Shut down the computer when backup is completed" option, it causes file system corruption on destination disk.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-3476] Cannot update build 6571 to 6576, or uninstall build 6571.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-3240] Scheduled backup to Synology NAS fails with error "The user name or password is incorrect".
  • [ATIHXOXIV-2801] Both option buttons can be deactivated while configuring the differential backup scheme.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-3028] Windows Live mail backup fails with error "Error occurred while backing up. (0x40019) Recovery has failed because the message database does not exist. Please start Windows Live Mail, then close it, and rerun recovery. (0x58000C)".
  • [ATIHXOXIV-3236] Metadata has been corrupted during disk backup to Acronis Cloud.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-2946] The Acronis recovery tab in the Properties window is missing on x64 systems.
  • In total, more than 250 fixed issues.

List of known issues 
  • [ATIHXOXIV-3404] Failed to access Acronis Secure Zone located on a USB HDD after reconnecting the HDD.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-1998] In scheduler, when you select the "System restart or shutdown" option, disk backup doesn't start at system shutdown.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-2452] In scheduler, clearing the "Run at system startup with delay" check box does not take effect.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-2659] A network folder is backed up after it was excluded from the backup source.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-2645] True Image creates an empty backup of a mapped network share. The "Failed to create snapshot" error occurs.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-685] System backup to USB HDD is corrupted if you reconnect the USB HDD during the backup operation.
  • [ATIHXOXIV-699] Acronis Startup Recovery Manager becomes deactivated after a full disk recovery.

System requirements and supported media
True Image 2014 requires the following hardware:
  • Mouse or other pointing device.
  • Using Acronis Nonstop Backup requires at least 1 GB RAM.
  • The minimum screen resolution is 1024 x 768.

Operating system

True Image 2014 has been tested on the following operating systems:
  • Windows XP SP3
  • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2
  • Windows Vista SP2 (all editions)
  • Windows 7 SP1 (all editions)
  • Windows 8 (all editions)
Correct work on other Windows operating systems is possible, but not guaranteed.

File system

Supported file systems:
  • FAT16/32
  • NTFS
  • Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 *
  • ReiserFS *
  • Linux SWAP *
* The Ext2/Ext3/Ext4, ReiserFS, and Linux SWAP file systems are supported only for disk or partition backup/recovery operations.

Supported storage media:
  • Internal hard disk drives*
  • External hard disk drives with any of the following interfaces: USB (including USB 3.0), eSATA, FireWire (IEEE-1394), and SCSI
  • Solid State Drives (SSD)
